tides have turned from booze to tears

daydreaming about warm weather--because i know with warm weather, i'll be that much closer to summer-and that means, summer break. i just grabbed these CHEAP MONDAY jeans from urban-wasn't too sure about them bc of the high waist, but i throw a t over it-and they are perfect, like pairing it with this mcqueen tee, chucks & my marc by marc jacobs studs n' staples satchel (but i actually have the style in fluro pink, which i am so excited for in the spring & summer)

last night a dj saved my life

my boy, andy 24" turned me on to johnno burgess-a dj out of london. he made me this great mix by burgess over xmas break called 'yacht rock' and it consists of lots of soft pop 80s music -very unexpected & almost queer, but totally rad--ie phil collins, robert palmer & that band toto..you know, they sang africa--which is a totally badass tune if i ever did hear one. my personal favorite being the paradise cut, 'in love with you..' that would definitely be on my lifetime made for tv movie soundtrack. lol
this mix was available on resident advisor but has since been archived, lucky for you though, only because, i'm so uuuuuber cool, you can grab it HERE!!!

i first learned about hannah marshall almost 2 years ago. i think they had a small blurb about her in elle magazine -and i was so fascinated with the couple of pics i saw, i checked her out online. i have yet to own a piece by her, but i totally fantasize. her designs are quite minimal at a quick glance-but with a level of artistry so striking it deserves further investigation. combining heavy leathers with fur & often lighter sheers-creates structured pieces with a romantic edge, imagine a dark baby doll. not the type of clothes that can be worn by any & all-the pieces only bring forward an even greater strength to the edgy gem who pulls it off.

crying on a saturday night

went to an art show with friends last night. i was happy to get out & about -away from school stuff n' people. didn't really care for any of the art-but this group called the kings performed. they had them set up in a small alcove -which was really rather perfect, each of them took turns bouncing off the walls and into the crowd. really dug the track-dungeon master & enjoyed all the live video feed they played too. imagine big breasted bikini babes with ak's. it was good stuff.
